New Life...Carolyne Joy

At long last our 'not-so-little' girl has arrived!  Praise the Lord ~ He is greatly to be praised!

At 1:40am today {September 14, 2011}, our 10 pound 12 ounce girl arrived measuring 22" long.  Birth story to follow after some much needed sleep and family bonding time takes place these next few days, so be sure to check back for the testimony of God's faithfulness, mercy and grace in this beautiful home birth.

For now, I'll leave you with some pictures of our "Joy"ous moment.

Moments after our QUICK and momentous delivery...this girl came forth with BOTH hands on her face...she topped Liz's one hand/head delivery!
A proud pappa...with his pudgy girl!

The astounding moment of weighing in...our biggest yet at 10 lbs., 12 oz. ~ my wonderful mid-wife Karen (l) and her senior student wid-wife Terry (r)...also attending was another 1st yr. student mid-wife "Peachy" (not pictured here).

8 hours young...Liz peaking to see if she has any hair ~ with several of her brothers and sisters looking on.  ;-)

As you can see, she loves her hands at her face...our precious 'not-so-little' Carolyne.

Thank you for all your prayers ~ God is faithful!

Blessings ~

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3
 {A verse of encouragement to me given by a friend yesterday...thank you, as my mind did stay fixed on Him ~ with continual thanksgiving and praise.}

Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl!
I'm hoping over from Raising Homemakers; I just LOVE homebirth stories. So glad everything went well, despite her size! Our first came out with her hands next to her head two, and with 20 stitches later, I know exactly what you're feeling! OUCH!

Hope you have a smooth recovery.

Hi Jarnette & CONGRATULATIONS!!! Praise the Lord that when she did come, she came quickly & at home! It makes you not know whether to say the labor took 2 hours or 2 weeks, doesn't it? ;D She's beautiful and her name is beautiful! Do you suppose the hands on the face were a factor in the hold up?

I enjoyed reading your email and while I didn't have a chance to answer (our week has been full of colds and kidney stones!) I've been thinking and praying about you! Especially since I can understand the frustration of what you went through!

Take care, rest well & enjoy that darling little one!

(I just realized that Carolyne is exactly double Rebekah's birth weight! )

I realized that in my earlier comment I forgot to mention that I've had two babies with their hands up by their face. Both were born quickly (the labors were not long) , but the pushing part was longer for me because of that.

With my first baby I received a 3rd degree tear all due to that hand and elbow! Thankfully, my Certified Nurse Midwife had previous stitching experience and a local anesthetic. The birth would have been otherwise perfect!

My fifth was also born with his hand by his face, and it made the birth much more painful, but thankfully I didn't tear.

Enjoy your days with your new little one!
